The House Judiciary Chairman just went around Trump’s Attorney General to get the truth from Mueller

Special Counsel Robert Mueller submitted his report to the Department of Justice weeks ago, and the American people still don’t know what it contains. All we have so far is Attorney General Barr’s brief summary which states that Mueller didn’t make a decision on whether or not Trump obstructed justice and that Mueller didn’t find enough evidence of collusion to proceed. The summary also admitted that Mueller explicitly did not exonerate the president.

Democrats have been pushing to make the entire report public, especially after investigators on Mueller’s team came forward to say that Barr “failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry” and claim that their findings “were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated.” All signs seem to indicate that the report contains deeply damaging information about the president or his close associates.

Trump himself is clearly worried about the report and has been constantly attacking Democrats for advocating for its release, painting them as insatiable and accusing them of acting in bad faith. He tweeted about it as recently as today, and the clear implication of his message was that there’s no point in releasing the report because even then Democrats won’t be placated.

The tweet is of course ridiculous. Democrats just want the truth.

Now, Representative Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has taken a major step towards revealing the truth to Americans. He stated today that Muller should be called before his committee to testify on the investigation. Nadler took to Twitter and threw his support behind Representative Doug Collins’s (R-GA) call for Mueller to testify.

Hopefully, the committee follows through on Nadler’s call to action. The American people have an undeniable right to know what’s in Mueller’s report and more importantly they deserve to know what their despicable president has been up to. Mueller must testify immediately so that appropriate action against the administration can be considered and pursued.
