Trump just went on a crazed Mueller rant hours before Congress’ report release deadline

Donald Trump and his circle of corrupt cronies continue to insist that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report was a major, unqualified victory for the president and the entire GOP despite the fact that Attorney General William Barr’s summary admits that Mueller explicitly did not exonerate Trump.

For now, all we know is that Mueller chose not to make a decision on whether or not President Trump obstructed justice and that the investigation failed to turn up enough evidence to pursue collusion charges. The fact that the Republicans are not furiously pushing to release the report in full appears to be a clear sign that it contains information damaging to Trump or those around him.

While House Democrats gave AG Barr a deadline to release the full Mueller report to Congress today, he’s not expected to do so. Now, it appears that Trump himself may be laying the groundwork to get away with never revealing the full Mueller report at all.

This morning, he unleashed a series of tweets in which he repeatedly returned to the idea that Democrats will never be satisfied with any amount of information, implying that because of that there’s no reason to release the full report.

He singled out Representative Jerry Nadler (D-), the House Judiciary Committee Chairman, and accused him of hypocrisy for wanting to release the full report when he opposed the release of Kenneth Starr’s report on President Clinton.

It should go without saying that Trump is the last person in the world with a right to accuse anyone of hypocrisy. More importantly, the allegations against Clinton were infinitely less serious than those leveled at Trump, and the future of this country could very well depend on the American people knowing what Mueller unearthed during his probe.

Trump went on to say that Democrats viewed Mueller as a “God-like figure” until he decided there was no collusion. As usual, he’s lying. Mueller specifically did not exonerate Trump. Just because he didn’t find enough evidence of collusion to pursue it further, doesn’t mean he didn’t find any evidence. It’s also just patently true that Democrats are now attacking Mueller. Trump is the only who has done that.

Trump then circled back to attacking Nadler and Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), who has also been a major advocate for defending Mueller’s investigation and making its findings public.

The president repeated his new talking point that “no amount of testimony or document production” will satisfy Democrats before concluding that it’s now “time to focus exclusively on properly running our great Country!” something he is both incapable of and uninterested in doing.

He wants us all to move on and forget about the Mueller report, but we can’t let him get away with it. The American people must be allowed to read it in full, and it must happen now.
