Trump just crossed a serious line while taking his disgusting Mueller victory lap

While the Republican Party has been falling over itself in a race to paint Attorney General William Barr’s summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s as an unmitigated victory for the president and his associates, Trump himself has been oddly reserved. He’s penned a few sporadic tweets since Barr’s analysis was released over the weekend and made a few comments in public, but hasn’t gone on the kind of unhinged, gloating rant one would expect from the man.

It could be possible that his uncharacteristic restraint is because the full Mueller report —which still hasn’t been released yet — still contains damning material about him and his cronies. Only time will tell. What we do know for sure is that while Mueller chose not to make a decision on whether or not the president obstructed justice, his report specifically did not exonerate Trump.

So we find ourselves stuck in a sort of hellish limbo where conservative media is acting as if they’ve achieved total victory when in reality we don’t even have a full picture of what Mueller’s investigation turned up.

This morning, Trump sent out a tweet that while deeply vitriolic, was a far cry from the sort of lunatic multi-tweet threads he’s been known to compose in the past. He claimed that the mainstream media is “under fire” for being “corrupt and FAKE.” How exactly they are either thing is unclear, since most of their coverage on the Russia collusion story was responsible and a rational response to an obviously corrupt president engaged in deeply suspicious behavior.

Trump claimed that the media pushed the “Russia Collusion Delusion” even though they knew there was “no collusion,” which is, of course, a lie because the media outlets did not have access to Mueller’s report, and for that matter still don’t. On top of that, we still don’t know that there was no collusion, we just Mueller was unable to find enough evidence to move forward with prosecution.

The president ended his tweet with his disgusting oft-repeated claim that the mainstream media is the “Enemy of the People” and the “Real Opposition Party” a dangerous smear given the violence, planned and executed, that has been carried out against members of the press since Trump took office.

The full Mueller report must be released immediately so that the American people can finally get the full story of what happened during the 2016 election. And regardless of what we discover we already know for a fact that our president is a cruel, selfish man unfit for office. He must be voted out for the sake of the Republic.
