The incestuous symbiotic relationship between President Trump and Fox News — a relationship that has people questioning exactly which partner controls the dynamics in the unholy marriage — has just inspired the president to post a rage-infused rant packed with anger and retaliation on Twitter after hearing the news that the Democratic National Committee would refuse to allow Trump’s beloved Fox News from hosting a presidential primary debate with any of the Democratic contenders in the 2020 presidential race.
DNC Chairman Tom Perez announced the organization’s blacklisting of Fox News today in response to a recently published article in The New Yorker that detailed the lock-step coordination between the Rupert Murdoch-owned cable TV political opinion and entertainment network and a White House whose communications head was a former president of the so-called “news” channel.
“Recent reporting in The New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and FOX News has led me to conclude that the network is not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates. Therefore, FOX News will not serve as a media partner for the 2020 Democratic primary debates,” Perez said in the statement.
Given that the article in The New Yorker merely confirmed what was already obvious to even the most casual observer — that Fox News is essentially a state-run media propaganda arm of the Trump administration that would have made Hitler’s own minister of information Joseph Goebbels proud — Perez’s announcement is as unsurprising as if the NAACP refused to televise its annual convention on an InfoWars live stream.
President Trump ventured into high dudgeon with his response to the Democratic party’s move, threatening to withhold his own participation in debates during the general election — making the grand assumption that he won’t already be in prison when the time for those debates rolls around.
While the people least likely to accept that assumption would presumably be happy to be spared any additional mass media exposure for Trump’s dreaded visage and reality-averse bleatings, it’s doubtful that the president would forgo the opportunity to spread lies directly in the face of his eventual competitor if he indeed makes it to a second nomination from the party he has subsumed into his servile lapdog.
Democrats just blocked @FoxNews from holding a debate. Good, then I think I’ll do the same thing with the Fake News Networks and the Radical Left Democrats in the General Election debates!

Trump’s indignation over the Democrats’ refusal to work with Fox News would perhaps be somewhat more palatable if it did not exactly mirror the actions of the Republican party during the 2016 campaign towards NBC News and Telemundo, as Daily Beast reporter Sam Stein pointed out in replying to Trump’s tantrum.

To be clear, the RNC did just this in 2016 for their own primary debates. No one seems to remember thathttps://t.co/Kdkduudotw https://t.co/txekIM9Upo

Hopefully, none of us will ever have to listen to Donald Trump participate in a presidential debate again. He’d probably like the same thing, except in his case he’d like to see it as a result of proclaiming himself president-for-life as he admired China’s leader Xi Jinping for doing.
For the rest of us, let’s hope his lack of participation stems from the Republican party regaining its senses and jettisoning the damaged goods they’ve installed in the White House into the federal prison in which he belongs.
