With control of the House’s committees firmly back in their hands, Democrats have wasted no time in launching an all-out inquisition into President Donald Trump and his cronies. House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) revealed on Tuesday that Daniel Goldman, a former federal prosecutor from the Southern District of New York who specialized in combating the Russian mafia, joined the probe as senior adviser and director of investigations sometime last month.

POLITICO reports that Goldman “was second-in-command at SDNY’s organized crime unit, has prosecuted the Russian mob and has secured convictions for racketeering, murder and money laundering, including against the Genovese crime family,” meaning he is the perfect man to lead a probe into the President, who is accused of money laundering, racketeering, and has known connections to the Russian mob.

The president’s growing alarm at the House’s investigations is obvious in the frequency and desperation of his tweets accusing the Democrats of “collusion” and of committing crimes themselves in a laughably sad attempt to project his guilt back on to the men aiming to bring him to justice.

It’s only a matter of time before Trump’s luck runs out and he’s finally forced to pay the piper — and with a man like Goldman at the helm, it’s much more likely to be sooner rather than later.
