The psychotic bloodlust of modern Republicans was put on full display today when Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) decided to go on Twitter today and derail not one, not two, but three of America’s most critical foreign policy negotiations with a disgusting threat aimed at Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who the US government and the ghouls in the national security blob have been trying to depose for a month now.
Without any text, Rubio sent out two images: one of Libyan leader Muammar Quaddafi and one of him after the United States’ intervention, right before he was sodomized with a bayonet and murdered in the street.

The implication is clear, especially after his weeks of piteous moaning about the evils of communism and the unabashed demands for regime change in yet another South American country with no regard whatsoever to the horrendous violence and years instability that inevitably follows America’s ham-fisted and consistently ill-conceived imperial interventions.
It is appalling to see a major elected official brag so glibly about the murder of another sovereign nation’s leader, especially since the bungled aftermath of the Libya intervention immediately led to a bloody civil war that continues to this day, created a petri dish for terrorist groups, provoked mass migrations of refugees into Europe, and the establishment of open-air slave markets.
The once (relatively) stable nation of Libya now lies in ruins and thousands dead, and all Rubio can think about is inflicting that same fate on a nation right on our own doorstep — while at the same time cheering on the President’s heinous plan to close our nation’s borders to all refugees, fully signaling his intent to leave the refugees that his dreams of regime change would create to drown like they do in Libya.
The revolting message he’s sending to the people of Venezuela aside, he’s also directly sabotaging the President’s efforts to reach a nuclear peace deal with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Their next summit is literally next week and Rubio just issued a sharp, unmistakable reminder of what happens when you voluntarily relinquish your nuclear program like Quaddafi did. The Islamic Republic of Iran is certainly watching both the Korea and Venezuela situations play out closely, and certainly won’t be more inclined to not escalate the situation with threats like this.
One helpful thing Rubio did do was cast away the despicable veneer of respectability that the Trump administration is trying very hard to drape over their attempt to eke out some kind of win from their laughably poor attempt to will regime change into reality earlier this month.
Rubio, an absolute idiot incapable of recognizing nuance or bringing any subtlety to his primitive political honking, seemingly forgot that the United States likes to use the language of human rights and humanitarianism as a Klan hood over its imperial ambitions.
President Trump, Secretary Pompeo, and all the rest of the right-wing swine hooting and baying for blood have been carefully insisting that this is about the people of Venezuela and their desire to see them “free” from the yoke of their twice-elected leader — but it’s obvious that this isn’t about democracy, seeing as Republicans are relentlessly trying to dismantle it in our own country.
I ask every member of the Maduro regime: End this nightmare of poverty, hunger and death. LET YOUR PEOPLE GO. Set your country free! Now is the time for all Venezuelan Patriots to act together, as one united people. Nothing could be better for the future of Venezuela!

The idea that Trump, who let thousands of Puerto Ricans suffer for months in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria out of sheer spite, cares at all about the people of Venezuela is laughable, and Rubio’s bloodthirsty post makes it clear that he couldn’t give a fig about the consequences as long as the scourge of “socialism” is replaced by…uh, a brutal an illegitimate capitalist oligarchy that will almost certainly embark on a series of vicious purges and crackdowns as it desperately attempts to cling to its ill-gotten power.
Rubio, who has spent the past two years quietly nursing his wounds, licking boots, and passively-aggressively tweeting out sanctimonious Bible verses after being publicly gelded by Donald Trump during the 2016 primary, has finally found a moment to pull himself back in the limelight as the Hispanic Senator willing to throw countless numbers of his fellow Hispanics into the meat grinder in the name of American empire.
Can’t seem to remember which Bible verse that’s in.
