Trump was just busted begging FOX News hosts to help him cover up his embarrassing wall defeat

It appears the president has finally capitulated and agreed to fund the government for the next year without any money for the border wall that he’s been obsessing over for months.

Devoid of political capital and still bloodied from the first bruising shutdown battle that forced hundreds of thousands of Americans to work without pay, the president’s allies managed to convince him to agree to just $1.375 billion in border fencing and $2 billion for border law enforcement, a far cry from the $5.7 billion he wanted and the “beautiful steel or concrete barrier” that he promised his racist voting base.

Now he and his team have been forced to go out and beg the grunting hogs of the conservative media machine to please try to spin this as a “win” for Trump team and to push back against the howling fury sputtering out from openly white supremacist far-right figures like Ann Coulter.

The New York Times reports that the President’s favorite TV hosts were called up and petitioned for their support:

One call was made to Lou Dobbs, a favorite of Mr. Trump’s whose Fox Business Network show he often tries to catch live. Another was placed to Sean Hannity, the Fox host who regularly talks with the president. The message: Mr. Trump deserved support because he still forced concessions that he would never have gotten without a five-week partial government shutdown.

The reality is that Trump actually ended up with less than was offered before the last Congress ended.

While Trump’s buddies at FOX have already made it clear they will carry Trump’s water up any hill, no matter how divorced from reality it might be, it’s beyond pathetic to see how hard the Trump administration is scrambling to try to create the illusion of success and protect the president’s ego.

God forbid the most powerful man in the world have to face the harsh truth about his political impotence and the absence of anything resembling actual “deal-making” skills.
