This morning, President Trump took to Twitter and disparaged the intelligence community in childish and personal terms, telling the highly educated officials that they need to “go back to school” and accused them of not taking the enormously over-hyped “threat” from Iran seriously.

The Intelligence people seem to be extremely passive and naive when it comes to the dangers of Iran. They are wrong! When I became President Iran was making trouble all over the Middle East, and beyond. Since ending the terrible Iran Nuclear Deal, they are MUCH different, but….

….a source of potential danger and conflict. They are testing Rockets (last week) and more, and are coming very close to the edge. There economy is now crashing, which is the only thing holding them back. Be careful of Iran. Perhaps Intelligence should go back to school!

It appears the president was watching television and learned that his Director of National Intelligence, Dan Coates, publicly burst the bubble of Trump’s delusions in his testimony to Congress yesterday.
The terror group ISIS has not been defeated, as Trump likes to say it has (while taking credit for it, of course) and Iran is not rebuilding its nuclear program, despite the best efforts of the Trump administration to goad it into doing so, desperate for the slightest provocation or excuse to start conflict with the neoconservative boogeyman.
The ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), took to Twitter to admonish the president for his disdainful disrespect for the critical work that our intelligence officials do to keep this country safe.

The President has a dangerous habit of undermining the intelligence community to fit his alternate reality. People risk their lives for the intelligence he just tosses aside on Twitter. https://t.co/BfRlqcM6rd

While it is hard to narrow down which of the president’s awful qualities is, in fact, the worst, his immediate rejection of any and all facts that don’t match up with his preconceived conclusions or desires is definitely up there.
It’s obvious that Trump does not understand or care about the potential consequences of his overtly hostile and obviously transparent approach to dealing with Iran. After ruining all the goodwill and the progress towards peace that President Obama had built with his historic nuclear peace treaty, he’s seemingly doing everything he can to get the United States involved in yet another international conflict.
It is simply mind-blowing that Donald Trump has access to what is likely the best intelligence information in the world and but instead would rather get all of his information from FOX and Friends.
For all of our sakes, we have to get him out of office as quickly as we can.
