Donald Trump is inarguably the most immoral president in modern American history, if not all of American history. He is a philanderer, sexual predator, crook, cheat, misogynist, liar, and racist. At this point into his presidency, the only people still arguing that he is a just or upstanding man are those too delusional to ever recognize the truth or too embarrassed to admit how wrong they got it.

The fact that he was elected was in large part due to the electoral machinations of the religious right is one of the central ironies of this entire debacle, and the fact that his Evangelical base has yet to denounce him en masse shows these hypocrites are willing to overlook the worst kind of behavior if it means their preferred politics are being furthered.

No rational person would believe that Trump — a man who has led the most corrupt, detestable life imaginable, seeking his own pleasure and wealth at the expense of others — is any kind of devout Christian. Yet the president and his administration in general still insist that Trump is a Godfearing man.
Today, White House Press Secretary and shameless professional liar Sarah Huckabee Sanders took the faith farce around Trump to a new low. She said that she believes that God himself wanted Donald Trump to be president and that God’s will to install him into the Oval Office is the reason he won the 2016 election.
As most Americans know by now, the only powerful figure who wanted Trump to become president was Vladimir Putin. There is no honest interpretation of the Bible that would lead one to believe Trump represents even a single Christian value.

Huckabee Sanders is a disgrace for suggesting that Trump was divinely ordained to become president, and claiming as much is dangerous in that it preemptively justifies the worst, most cruel things Trump does.
“I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, and that’s why he’s there" — Sarah Sanders to @CBNNews
