Police just caught one of Trump’s alt-right fanatics breaking onto Nancy Pelosi’s property

The rotting of American conservatism has given birth to an army of right-wing grifters and hacks who have managed to exploit the new prevalence of social media to carve out niche, extremist audiences for themselves. Often the ones that rise in prominence are the most laughably ignorant, outspoken individuals.

Laura Loomer, a self-described “investigative journalist” and alt-right figure who has engaged in conspiracy theories in the past, demonstrated once again today how truly unhinged she is. Loomer last made headlines for hysterically handcuffing herself to the doors of Twitter’s headquarters to protest the social media juggernaut banning her account.

Will Sommer of The Daily Beast reports that Loomer climbed the fence into Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) house in Napa County, California. Loomer proceeded to chant Pelosi’s name in some kind of strange, poorly-articulated protest that seemed to be in support of Trump’s border wall, an ironic message to be sure since her clambering over the walls of the property directly contradicts the argument that walls “work.”

Photos of Loomer carrying a big tent with the word “Immorality” spraypainted on it have also emerged, although it’s unclear what exactly the message was supposed to be. Loomer also admitted to trying to open the doors to enter the house, which places her actions on legally dubious grounds. Her co-conspirators made the idiotic argument that it was okay for them to climb onto the property because there aren’t any “no trespassing signs” hanging.

Eventually, the police arrived but Loomer was not arrested for some reason. One can only imagine how differently this situation would have played out if it had been a leftist trespassing on property belonging to Paul Ryan (R-WI) or Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

At the very least, the news would be full of breathless concern for their safety and bad faith efforts to paint the entire Democratic Party as insane. Hers is not the behavior of a stable, well-adjusted person, and these actions must be condemned by Democrats and Republicans alike.
