A FOX news guest just dismissed Ocasio-Cortez as a “little girl.” Her response is brilliant

As a newly sworn-in Congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has already attracted some of the most aggressive media attention among the incoming freshman class of representatives. Her status as the current youngest member of Congress, as well as her attractive demeanor and her Democratic Socialist principles, has brought both positive reactions of admiration from her supporters and harshly negative and dismissive attacks from her often sexist and ageist conservative detractors.

One such derisive and demeaning disparager is Ed Rollins, a Republican campaign consultant and advisor whose political skullduggery dates back as far as Ronald Reagan’s mid-80s presidential campaign.

Now the co-chairman of the Trump-supporting Great America PAC, Rollins made an appearance on the Fox Business News program of the equally regressive presidential sycophant Lou Dobbs yesterday and not only exposed his chasm of a generation gap with the energetic young Congresswoman but also demonstrated by his comments about Rep. Ocasio-Cortez a level of overt sexism that civilized society had hoped had been slowly dying off along with the patriarchal dinosaurs who exemplify it.

Rollins may as well have referred to a full-grown African-American man as “boy,” so antiquated was his attitude towards the  29-year-old woman who defeated a long-serving incumbent Democratic Congressman with her commitment to progressive change,

Yet, as she has with every other Republican snipe at her political inexperience and radical calls for progressive policies that benefit the majority of Americans born without a trust fund, Ocasio-Cortez beat back this literally belittling adversarial assault like Wonder Woman fending off machine gun bullets with her Bracelets of Submission.

She responded to a tweet highlighting Rollins’ televised disparagement with a taunt at Republican’s inability to debate her ideas on their relative merit and with a novel, albeit jesting, proposition.

Republicans like Rollins and Dobbs risk a great deal by failing to properly respect Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez’s intelligence, fortitude, and her ability to punch back at the facile and dismissive slights slung her way by their condescending media flacks with a level of logical discourse, political smarts, and instinctual aim at their weakest and most easily demolished arguments.

Just days into her tenure, Representative Ocasio-Cortez is already proving to be a formidable adversary to a Republican media assault that she dances circles around. Floating like a butterfly, stinging like a bee, AOC is the rising Democrat to see.

Let’s hope that she and her fellow diverse new congresspeople bring down the old guard of Republican enablers and the president that they defend from his rightful fate of ignominy.
