A CNN host just called out Conway over the two refugee children who died in ICE custody

CNN‘s Dana Bash wasn’t having any of it.

White House Senior Advisor Kelley Anne Conway was dispatched by the Trump administration to peddle putrid political punditry on the cable news network’s Sunday morning program “State of The Union” and was harping on — accusing Democrats of using the two refugee children who suffered tragic deaths while in Customs and Border Patrol detention “as political pawns.”

“I don’t like some of the Democrats using these deaths as political pawns,” Conway told Bash.

“But isn’t that exactly what the president just did,” Bash retorted.

“No the president is not doing that,” Conway quickly denied. “The president does not want these children to come on the perilous journey to begin with.  They are paying now, some of them are paying the ultimate price but many of them are paying these coyotes who don’t give a whit about human life,” the handsomely paid political harridan, working for an administration that doesn’t give a whit about human life said.

Conway — who could herself be described as a coyote for transporting the president’s vile views on immigration over the border of truth to the television audience — was attempting to elucidate the views of President Trump who made the astonishing claim yesterday that the deaths of  8-year-old Felipe Gomez Alonzo and 7-year-old Jakelin Caal Maquin were not the fault of the cruelty of his own immigration policies of incarcerating asylum-seekers and the incompetence of the Department of Homeland Security in caring for the most vulnerable of its charges, but of the Democrats who pointed out the malice and folly of his efforts to paint legitimate refugees as criminals. rapists, and gang members.

Dana Bash’s accusation lodged toward President Trump — a heartless manipulator using the deaths of two innocent children as political cannon fodder to attack Democrats who rightly placed the blame on the man who instituted the policies that resulted in their demise — was a rare and brave direct repudiation in real time of patronizing Republican talking points that try to engage in the president’s favorite pastime: evading responsibility for his actions.

More journalists need to deploy their lie and propaganda detecting skills as effectively when allowing administration officials to appear on their programs to spin their web of misinformation and deception. If they had done so more effectively before the 2016 presidential election, perhaps we wouldn’t be forced to assign blame for the deaths of innocent child refugees.
