A quick glance at his Twitter page makes one thing abundantly clear: Donald Trump is panicking. Rarely passes the day when his first thoughts blasted out to the world aren’t related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his Russia investigation. Trump is obsessed and has been reduced to screaming vainly into the void.

Today, he tweeted out some quote from one the partisan hacks at Fox News and once again insisted that there was no collusion between his campaign and agents of Vladimir Putin. The president then pivoted to address the recent news that federal prosecutors believe Trump committed felony campaign finance violations when he ordered his then-attorney Michael Cohen to deliver hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal to cover up his extramarital affairs.
In his morning tweets, Trump mischaracterized the payments as a “simple private transaction,” then waffled to say even if it was a campaign contribution it was a “civil case,” which makes no sense whatsoever, he then tried to smear Obama, and concluded that the full blame falls on Cohen and not himself. Just for good measure, he tacked on a “WITCH HUNT!” at the end.

The tweets are clearly delusional and essentially par for the course at this point for a president who is relying more on more on social media lash outs to fight back against the Mueller’s probe.
What was notable about this message was a glaring typo in which Trump referred to the lack of a “Smocking Gun,” a phrase which he typed not once but twice and which he strangely capitalized both times. It’s not the first time his tweets have included egregious typos, but it is a reminder that our leader is either so lazy he can’t be bothered to read his own tweets over, or he simply isn’t very literate.
“Democrats can’t find a Smocking Gun tying the Trump campaign to Russia after James Comey’s testimony. No Smocking Gun…No Collusion.” @FoxNews That’s because there was NO COLLUSION. So now the Dems go to a simple private transaction, wrongly call it a campaign contribution,…

….which it was not (but even if it was, it is only a CIVIL CASE, like Obama’s – but it was done correctly by a lawyer and there would not even be a fine. Lawyer’s liability if he made a mistake, not me). Cohen just trying to get his sentence reduced. WITCH HUNT!

Twitter users were quick to swarm the president and mock his inability to do even a basic spellcheck of his own tweets.
Today in Spellcheck Can't Save You:
'Smocking' is a type of embroidery made of many small folds sewn into place. https://t.co/3wbxPG24ne

This has been up for hours.
Where else could you work where, as a professional, you consistently sent out so many error filled communications & not get fired?
Where else could you work & rant hate filled & racist remarks.
No professional organization would tolerate this.

You've made a smockery of the presidency, sir!

A smocking gun would have made the sewing part of my Home Ec class so much more interesting.

There’s no denying this one. He typed it twice.

Yup, not a single smocking gun tying! Thank You President of the United States! https://t.co/cklXLkRybC

STOP THE PRESSES! Donald Trump tells the truth. In a bombshell tweet the President accurately stated that in the Russia investigation there is no smocking gun. Unfortunately for his future legal exposure, the numerous smoking guns could prove problematic.

While it's fun to mock #SmockingGun & the spelling skills of stable genius, here's a key fact: @realDonaldTrump has now moved from saying there is no evidence of collusion to there is no smoking gun. Mueller hasn't yet revealed what he knows & Trump is moving the goalposts again. https://t.co/ooqxr1JxaM

I'm curious about this Smocking Gun. Is that related to the Red Hearing? https://t.co/uDvADJsTBB

I’m so confused. Not once but twice he said “smocking gun.” I’m being dead serious. How does that happen? https://t.co/hgVDGXWIGT
