A former U.S. attorney just called for Trump to be stripped of presidency over new Mueller bombshell

A former U. S. attorney just proposed the perfect remedy if the final outcome of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation proves that Trump “procured the presidency by fraud”: rescind the election and strip trump of the presidency.

Barbara McQuade, the former United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan, joined Joyce Vance, the former U. S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, on the panel presided over by guest host Jonathan Capehart on MSNBC’s AM Joy this morning to discuss one of the most remarkable weeks of explosive news to emerge from the Mueller probe since it started.

Their reactions to the week’s events demonstrate just how much legal norms have been violated by Trump and his administration.

“I think one of the most important takeaways here actually is an extra-legal takeaway,” Vance explained. “It’s the notion — that as American citizens — a candidate lied to us during the campaign.”

“That has legal implications for the Mueller investigation, but the bottom line here is that all the time that Trump during the campaign was telling us he had no dealings in Russia, no business in Russia, he was actually sitting on top of a deal that was designed to bring in hundreds of millions of dollars according to filings that we’ve seen this week. This is really shocking,” Vance added.

McQuade quickly agreed with Vance’s assessment and took it a step further.

“This is a significant matter,” McQuade concurred. “This is not just a regulatory offense when you talk about campaign finance violations. It could be that President Trump procured the presidency by fraud,” she said.

“Democracy is all about giving full information to voters so they can cast a ballot for the candidate of their choice. And by lying and covering up about his past on the eve of the election and violating the laws designed to create transparency, they say that President Trump clouded the process for the American voters,” she logically concluded.

McQuade then went on to provide the perfect comparison to use to put Trump’s actions in a context that leads to her much-needed solution to the level of deception foisted upon the American public by the president.

“When immigrants procure their citizenship by fraud, we strip them of their citizenship. When a president procures his presidency by fraud, should we consider doing the same?” she asked.

The answer for many people is simple: yes.

Not just strip Trump of the presidency but roll back his supreme court appointments, his executive orders on immigration and the environment, and every other destructive action he has taken to undermine our nation’s future.
