Ivanka and Jared just succeeded in getting rid of one of Trump’s top cabinet officials

It appears Trump is set to lose yet another prominent member of his cabinet as the chaos and dysfunction behind the scenes drives one of the few remaining voices that just barely might be considered “reasonable” out of the White House and into a comfy series of late-night show appearances and probably some sort of tell-all book.

CNN is reporting that Chief of Staff John Kelly is expected to resign in the coming days and is “no longer on speaking terms with the President” after having reached a “stalemate” in their relationship, even though Trump asked him to stay on for two more years just a few months ago.

Trump reportedly believes that Kelly is not “politically savvy” enough to handle the incoming Democratic House of Representatives, not to mention his resentment towards Kelly’s intrusive efforts to rein in his more destructive impulses.

While Trump and his new best friend, deputy chief of staff for communications Bill Shine, have slowly been pushing Kelly out the door, the general has been simultaneously waging a power struggle against White House “senior advisors” Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

The pair has been scheming to get him ousted for months now, jealous of the influence that the former general holds over the president and seeking to replace him with someone more amenable to their personal agendas.

They accused Kelly’s deputy chief of staff, Zachary Fuentes, of being the author of the anonymous New York Times op-ed which drove the president into a fit of rage, with Ivanka going as far as to tell her father that Kelly is “destroying your presidency,” according to Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman.

Reports of tensions between National Security Advisor John Bolton and Kelly have also made headlines, such as a “profanity-laced shouting match” that erupted when Bolton disparaged Kelly protege Homeland Security chief Kristjen Nielsen for her failure to properly respond to the Honduran refugee caravan that Trump xenophobically obsessed over during the run-up to the mid-term elections.

It’s unclear who might be taking over the role, though it appears that Mike Pence’s chief of staff Nick Ayers is a favorite for the job.

While Kelly, a disgusting racist who provoked outrage for excusing the separation of migrant toddlers from their parents because they would be put in “foster care or whatever,” certainly won’t be missed, one shudders to think of what the Trump White House might look like under the control of a young zealous Aryan psychopath like Ayers.

At the very least, Kelly had the discipline that comes with being a military man. A young, pampered millionaire ideologue is absolutely not up to the task of keeping a man like Donald Trump in check, and might even revel in giving in to the President’s worst impulses.

What we do know for sure is that the chaos in Washington is about to kick into a whole new gear.
