Internet pranksters just made Rudy Giuliani accuse Trump of treason in hilarious stunt

The unraveling of Rudy Giuliani has been one of the weirder, sadder sideshows of the Trump era. The man who was once respected across the entire country for his leadership as mayor of New York City during 9/11 has now completely degraded himself in service to our conman president. Giuliani’s obsequiousness is matched only by his stunning incompetence, two traits which were put on display in a recent tweet he sent out.

On Friday, Giuliani took to Twitter to whine about Special Counsel Robert Mueller, a pathetic act which has increasingly become one of the favorite hobbies of everyone attached to the Trump administration. They’re helpless to stop his investigation, so they’re leaning more and more into trying to undermine it in the media.

The actual meat of the tweet was nonsense, with Giuliani trying to fault Mueller for the timing of a recent indictment. It’s the kind of tweet that wouldn’t have drawn attention normally, but there’s something strange about it upon closer inspection…

Part of the tweet is a hyperlink because Giuliani forgot to put a space after one of the periods. It appears that an online activist saw an opportunity and seized it by purchasing the domain, because if you click the link now it directs you to a website that proclaims in big text “Donald J. Trump is a traitor to our country.

It’s unclear when the link became active, but Giuliani has yet to delete it. It’s frankly stunning that nobody on Giuliani’s team has realized the blunder and corrected. As funny as it is, it’s also another sad reminder of just how embarrassingly inept these people really are.
