Trump just left the nation bewildered with bizarre tweet that reads like a high schooler’s diary

Yesterday was a disastrous day for Donald Trump. Not only was it revealed that his former attorney Michael Cohen has struck a new plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, admitting that he lied about the length and degree of the Trump Organization’s involvement in a business deal in Russia, it was also revealed that in order to grease the wheels of said deal, Trump’s associates planned to offer Vladimir Putin the $50 million penthouse of the proposed Trump Tower Moscow.

In other words, Trump’s previous claim that he had no business entanglements in Russia was exposed as not only a lie but as a massive, absurd lie that under normal circumstances and in a sane political atmosphere would spell the end of a presidency.

Trump clearly realizes how serious yesterday’s revelations were because he took to Twitter today to rant about them. The worn out tactic is nothing new for him when it comes to defending himself politically but today’s tweets were notable because of their strange wording and overwhelming petulance.

The president tried to mock Mueller’s investigation as obviously contrived and present himself as some patriotic American who sacrificed his perfect life to save the country rather than the power-hungry reality television conman he really is.

Talking like how an old person thinks a high schooler sounds, Trump said that during his campaign he ran his businesses “very legal & very cool.” The idea that something can be “very legal” as opposed to just legal or illegal is the kind of idiotic rhetorical invention we’ve come to expect from this man.

He went on to mischaracterize his involvement in the Russia deal as him “lightly” considering it, a ludicrous assertion given the financial magnitude of the Trump Tower Moscow project and the amount of time spent by his team negotiating the deal.

The weird phrasing and attitude really have to be seen to be believed, but suffice it to say our president is very worried about what’s just over the horizon for him. He’s unraveling by the day.
