Now that the midterms have concluded with a rousing victory for Democrats and the wresting of control of the House of Representatives from the GOP, America’s eyes turn once again to Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign.

According to a report from Vanity Fair, the White House is deeply concerned about what could come to light in the coming weeks at Mueller’s behest. While they are indeed worried that President Trump himself could be hit with serious charges, they believe it is more likely that former Trump campaign advisor and walking cariacture of a cartoon villain Roger Stone or even Donald Trump Jr. could soon be on the legal chopping block.
“I’m very worried about Don Jr.,” a former White House official said. The official previously testified in front of the the Senate Intelligence Committee.
It’s believed that Trump’s bumbling, moronic son could be caught up for perjury due to comments he made to investigators in which he mendaciously claimed that he didn’t tell Donald Trump Sr. about his secret Trump Tower in advance. The meeting was with Russians from whom Trump Jr. hoped to receive campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton.
Politico has added to the fire and reports that Trump Jr. himself is worried about his future, and has told his friends recently that he thinks there’s a chance he will end up indicted by Mueller.
According to the Vanity Fair report, Rudy Giuliani, long a staple of the pro-Trump media operation and one of the president’s attorneys, has been quietly building a strategy to hit back at Mueller’s inevitable report. Giuliani has been trekking through Europe in his spittle-flecked suits consulting with clients and drawing up his counterattack plans with other Trump lawyers.

“They don’t know what Mueller has but they have a good idea and they’re going to rebut it,” said a Republican associate of Giuliani.
Given Giuliani’s increasingly erratic, nonsensical behavior and rhetoric, it’s unclear how effective his efforts will ultimately prove. In the short term, Americans can draw hope from the fact that Donald Trump Jr., an absolute national embarrassment, might soon be thrown behind bars.
