LeBron James just sent Ted Cruz the ultimate diss at NBA game in Texas

Basketball superstar LeBron James is woke. The Akron, Ohio native may have moved his team affiliation from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Los Angeles Lakers this year, but he still knows exactly where his political affiliations remain.

James traveled to Texas today with the Lakers for a game against the San Antonio Spurs and the NBA celebrity had the perfect headgear for the trip: A white “Beto for Senate” hat.

Arriving in the state just 10 days before a crucial election that can help determine the balance of power in the U.S. Senate, James made sure he expressed his support for Beto O’Rourke, the Democratic candidate trying to unseat Senator “Lying Ted” Cruz (R-TX)  in the tightly contested race.

James has been a fan of Beto’s since the candidate gave a brave and eloquent defense of NFL players who kneel to protest the spate of shootings of unarmed black men at the hands of police who rarely are held accountable for their actions.

O’Rourke told a crowd in deep red Texas that he could “think of nothing more American” than the NFL players’ decision to peacefully protest African-Americans “being killed at a frightening level right now, including by members of law enforcement, without accountability and without justice.”

James saw the video on Twitter and retweeted it with a shout-out to O’Rourke for his support of James’ fellow athletes.

Now let’s hope that Beto O’Rourke can achieve victory against Senator Cruz in the same manner that LeBron James has led his own teams to victory so many times.

If you’re in Texas, make sure that you vote and cast your ballot for Beto and every other Democrat on the ticket. If you live elsewhere, vote a straight Democratic ticket too. It’s the only way to stop Trump and his Republican cronies from continuing to destroy our nation’s democracy.
