The FBI just arrested a prominent neo-Nazi leader

Robert Paul Rundo, a neo-Nazi who fled from the United States to Central America, has been apprehended by the FBI, reports The New York Times. He’s been arrested and charged with “conspiracy to commit violence and incite riots.” Three of his fellow neo-Nazis were also arrested and charged.

The leader of the Rise Above Movement, a neo-Nazi gang from California, Rundo is now being kept in a jail in Los Angeles. His group is said to have engaged in violence at different protests in California last year. He and some of his fellow racists allegedly attacked protestors in Huntington Beach, Berkeley, San Bernadino, and Charlottesville, Virginia. Some members physically attacked journalists.

Videos from April of last year shows Rundo and his idiotic thug associates on their trip to Berkeley taping up their hands like fighters and donning skeletal masks in preparation for the violence they intended to carry out. Rundo himself would go on to punch police officer repeatedly in the head before he was eventually overpowered and arrested.

The FBI claims that videos were taken of the violent attacks so that they could be spread on the internet and used to recruit likeminded individuals to the Nazi movement. Clearly, these people and their ilk need to be taken seriously and dealt with before their hatred is allowed to spread even further.

Rundo previously served time for attacking a member of the MS-13 gang, a rival organization, demonstrating that despite President Trump’s rhetoric violence isn’t just relegated to the El Salvadorean gang, and indeed white nationalist groups are just as if not more dangerous.

Of course, it would be foolish to expect the Trump administration to so much as mention the arrest of Rundo and his violent friends, since doing so might alienate the voting bloc of white nationalists who voted for and continue to support the Trump administration. The modern Republican Party is absolutely riddled with these people and the Republicans in power will continue to shield them in return for their support. Luckily, we now have a few less of them roaming the streets.
