Samuel L. Jackson just called out conservative news media with a brilliant response to bombing attempts

While the right-wing propaganda machine is going to ridiculous lengths to paint today’s spree of attempted bombings as a liberal “false flag” attack, world-famous actor and prominent Democratic activist Samuel L. Jackson took to Twitter to call it what it is:

By any definition, the mailing of improvised explosive devices to prominent political figures is an act of terrorism, and one that the right-wing has been very fond of in the past.

Far-right wing extremists committed some 41 bombings, 173 arsons, 91 attempted bombings/arsons and made 619 bomb threats against abortion providers in the United States while white supremacist terrorists notoriously bombed a church in 1963, killing four young Black girls.

The worst act of domestic terrorism in the United States history, of course, was the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, where right-wing anti-government extremist killed 168 people and injured nearly 700 others with a truck bomb.

So no matter how hard Rush Limbaugh may try to claim that the “Republicans just don’t do these sort of things” America needs to accept the facts that our law enforcement agencies have laid out in front of us: domestic right-wing terrorists are one the biggest threat facing our national security.

“Law enforcement agencies in the United States consider anti-government violent extremists, not radicalized Muslims, to be the most severe threat of political violence that they face” reports the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security.

These bombing attempts are likely going to be only the beginning as the president ratchets up his vitriol ahead of the midterm elections. It’s vitally important that we call this what it is — terrorism — and treat it with the severity that it deserves.
