In a terrifying display of terrorism, a series of bombs have been sent to the houses and offices of prominent Democrats, some currently serving and some formerly. While the identity of the bomber(s) has yet to emerge, the nature of the attempted attacks seems to point to a right-wing maniac intent on causing injury or death to his imagined enemies.
Unfortunately, this wave of attacks feels like a natural consequence of Trump’s constant fearmongering and violent rhetoric. When the president frames his political opponents as actively working to destroy the United States, it’s hardly surprising that some unhinged person takes it upon themselves to put a stop it.
Even though the Republican Party controls every branch of government, Trump has somehow found a way to keep his base angry and screeching about their victimhood. These people wield immense power but still push conspiracy theories about a Democratic deep state undermining their rights. If things continue at this rate, innocent people are going to get hurt.

Secretary Clinton, still a favorite bugaboo of the right even after her 2016 election loss, was luckily unharmed by the explosive sent to her home. Now, she’s speaking up about the attempted bombings.
“Many of you and others across our country have asked after me and my family and I’m very grateful for that. We are fine thanks to the men and women of the Secret Service who intercepted the package addressed to us long before it made its way to our home. Every day we are grateful for their service and commitment and obviously never more than today. But it is a troubling time, isn’t it?” Clinton said.
Her courage serves as an inspiration to anyone worried about the terrifying times we are currently living in, and her demeanor shows that the best way forward is to stay calm and not give in to our worst instincts.
