Earlier today, a series of improvised explosive devices were sent to the homes and offices of several prominent anti-Trump Democrats. One was sent to CNN and addressed to Obama’s former CIA Director John Brennan.
The bomber apparently made a mistake though, because Brennan regularly appears on MSNBC to give his opinions on the current administration, not CNN. That said, CNN has been one of the most frequent targets of Trump’s “fake news” claims.

Although the culprit(s) has yet to be found, all signs seem to point to a right-wing radical, — perhaps spurred on by Trump’s constant anti-liberal, anti-media rhetoric — was driven to take violent action.
The president, for his part, offered a characteristically tepid response to the terrifying assassination attempts. During a bill signing event, he delivered some boilerplate comments about his desire to “protect” the American people. Not surprisingly, he refused to recognize the huge part he himself has played in radicalizing our politics towards violence.
TRUMP on attempted bombings: "The safety of the American people is my highest and absolute priority…we have to unify & send a clear message that acts of political violence have no place in US."

Now, CNN President Jeff Zucker has slammed Trump in an official statement. Zucker accused the administration of failing to understand the “seriousness of their continued attack on the media.” He singled out President Trump and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders for their repeated attacks on the free press, urging them to recognize that “their words matter.”
Zucker is right to condemn the president and his surrogates for fostering the current violent atmosphere in this country. Unfortunately, the White House shows no signs of changing its ways under Trump. As long as these people in power, things will continue to rapidly deteriorate. The only solution is to vote Democrats into office and restore some degree of peace and normalcy to America.
