Republicans have seen the polls. They’ve seen the numbers on early voting. Now, they’re scared and resorting to both promises of bribes to the American people and fear-mongering to avoid losing their majorities in both houses of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.
TRUMP: "We are looking at putting in a very major tax cut for middle-income people. And if we do that it'll be sometime just prior to November. We are studying very deeply right now round the clock a major tax cut for middle income people."

Given the fact that Congress is not currently in session and has no plans to convene between now and the midterm elections, the obvious falsity of Trump’s empty promise is remarkably easy to confirm.
Trump and his scheming Republican accomplices, however, are counting on an American public too stupid or distracted to notice that fact — or the truth that this is the same promise that they made when they enacted their last tax cut, the one that actually wound up gifting the country’s billionaires and corporations with the vast majority of its largesse while setting up the record deficits that they are now using as an excuse to try to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security entitlements that were financed separately through deductions from your salaries. That’s a practice otherwise known as outright theft.
Perhaps someone should press Trump, McConnell, and Ryan on the whereabouts of all the money that was supposed to “trickle down” from the wealthy from their bountiful tax cuts that amounted to mere pennies for the vast majority of taxpayers outside the highest earning brackets.
Perhaps they are hiding out with the higher salaries for workers that were supposed to result from the massive corporate tax breaks but instead were funneled by rapacious corporate executives into stock buybacks that raised the value of their own stock options and into higher executive compensation and bonuses instead?
Given the number of broken promises and outright lies promulgated by the Trump administration, it’s difficult to imagine why anyone in the world would believe a single thing that the president has to say, knowing that self-interest is the only thing that matters to him. Yet, his gullible base treats him like Santa Claus. They know in their hearts that they shouldn’t believe in him, but boy those presents sure sound good!
A word to the wise: don’t fall for this conman again. Empty promises lead to empty pockets for everyone except Trump and his billionaire buddies. With economists predicting an 80% chance of a major recession in the next 3 years, expect them to swoop in after all the bankruptcies and foreclosures begin and buy up everything on the cheap, exactly as they did after G. W. Bush’s 2008 Republican-caused financial meltdown, where no Wall Street fat cats were ever punished for the misdeeds that they later exploited to enrich themselves further.
If anything bears repeating, it’s this simple mantra: Vote them out and bring a Democratic majority to both houses of Congress!!
