During the horrendous debacle that was this afternoon’s testimony from Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) used her last question to ask Kavanaugh if he had watched the testimony of his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.

My final question for Judge Kavanaugh: Did you watch Dr. Ford's testimony?
His answer: "I did not."

But in a bizarre turn of events, it turns out that the Wall Street Journal reported earlier that a Senate Judiciary staffer told them that Kavanaugh, in fact, had watched the testimony, meaning that he may have lied to Senator Harris while under oath for no discernible reason.

Curiously enough, the Wall Street Journal — whose op-ed board has been a vocal Kavanaugh supporter — later deleted their tweet, raising the question that they were covering for Kavanaugh and trying to downplay the contradiction.
OH COOL ANOTHER LIE. https://t.co/oFRUfMBwqu

They left their story up, however, simply adding the following qualifier:
Kavanaugh Monitoring Hearing From Elsewhere
Among those watching Dr. Ford’s testimony was Judge Kavanaugh, a committee aide said, from a monitor in another room in the Dirksen Senate Building, where he awaits the opportunity to tell his side of the story later today.
UPDATE: Judge Kavanaugh said during his hearing that he did not watch Dr. Ford’s testimony. He said he had intended to but was preparing for his own testimony.
Why would he lie?
Perhaps he wanted to avoid any uncomfortable questions, or maybe he just doesn’t feel like women are worthy of the truth — after all, we know he casually lies to his wife and encourages others to do the same.
Perhaps he simply didn’t watch the testimony instead, and focused on “preparing for his own testimony” like he said he was — but the fact that he immediately began crying and raging in front of the Senate tells us that he definitely watched her testimony and knew he had to come out swinging.
WHY WOULD JUDGE KAVANAUGH LIE ABOUT THIS? https://t.co/jcmx2yK7Zl

Or it might just be because he’s a habitual liar and manipulator, willing to do whatever it takes to get his way with no regard for the truth or what’s right — qualities that are absolutely unacceptable in a Supreme Court justice.
I have seen men cry like kavanaugh, the one who cried at my feet after smashing my face thru a glass coffee table, the one sobbing and screaming until i understood it was my fault for making him angry enough to attack me.
Deny, attack, become the victim…cry if you are able.

Kavanaugh is suspected to have perjured himself during his original confirmation hearings, so it wouldn’t be out of character to have done so again.
Sadly, it will all come to naught. It appears that the Republicans are intent on ramming through his confirmation no matter what, despite the fact that his behavior today should have disqualified him from his current job, let alone a new one.
#BREAKING: Per @AP, Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee just announced that they will still hold a vote tomorrow morning to move Kavanaugh's nomination forward. Today's hearing was a sham, as expected.

UPDATE: The WSJ has updated their story – now entitled “Kavanaugh Didn’t Watch Ford’s Testimony (Updated)” to include the following addendum:
UPDATE: Later, Judge Kavanaugh said during his own testimony that he didn’t watch Dr. Ford, contrary to what the aide said earlier. He said he had intended to watch it but was preparing for his own testimony.
Given this development, this article has been removed from Facebook, but we’ve left it on the website so that this update may serve as clarification for readers.
