Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee this afternoon and proved once and for all that he does not have the temperament that the people of the United States require of their lifetime appointees to the Supreme Court.

Kavanaugh became furiously angry during his testimony, insultingly shouting at Democrats who asked him questions and throwing their questions back in his face. He showed especial rudeness and condescension to Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA), who just so happens to be a woman.

Kavanaugh, to the confusion and consternation of everyone involved, repeated multiple times that he “liked beer” and enjoyed drinking beers with his buddies but swore that he never got blackout drunk or grew aggressive — in complete contradiction to the memories of everyone he went to college with.
Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) took to Twitter to connect the dots and said what the entire nation was thinking as Kavanaugh ranted and raved:

If Brett Kavanaugh can be this angry on national TV, imagine what he's like when he gets inebriated.#KavanaughHearings https://t.co/jqszfqb8Fq

Many people have been pointing out that the behavior exhibited by Kavanaugh today exactly matches that of an abuser — and when combined with his documented history of heavy alcohol use, it’s hard to imagine how he isn’t guilty of what Christine Ford accused him of so eloquently this morning.

Brett Kavanaugh is crying out of embarrassment, and because of how his history of sexual abuse will now impact his life moving forward. This is how abusers operate. It is not remorse, it is not because he is innocent. It is because he may be held accountable, and he is scared.

I worked as a survivor advocate and often sat with my clients while they testified in court. It was more common for the respondent/abuser to cry and yell than it was for the survivor. That's all to say Kavanaugh's behavior today is exactly what I would expect from an abuser.

kavanaugh is giving a master class in gaslighting, becoming the victim instead of the victimizer. anyone who has ever confronted their abuser recognizes this.

Kavanaugh is completely unhinged. You can just see the abuser in him, just waiting to come out.
