The flailing Republican efforts to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh took another devastating blow on Wednesday with the release of a sworn statement by Michael Avenatti’s mystery client, a woman who has revealed herself to be Julie Swetnick.
Swetnick signed a sworn testimony under penalty of perjury alleging that she had witnessed Brett Kavanaugh, Mark Judge, and their prep school buddies engage in monstrous predatory behavior and commit appalling sexual crimes.
Below is my correspondence to Mr. Davis of moments ago, together with a sworn declaration from my client. We demand an immediate FBI investigation into the allegations. Under no circumstances should Brett Kavanaugh be confirmed absent a full and complete investigation. pic.twitter.com/QHbHBbbfbE

Swetnick describes how Kavanaugh and his crew targeted vulnerable or shy girls, covertly forced women to drink more alcohol than they thought they were consuming, drugged women with pills and then gang-raped them once they were incapacitated.
Swetnick swears that she herself was a victim of these gang-rapes, and attests that she has other witnesses to back up her story.
Not only are Swetnick’s allegations decidedly on-brand with the portrait of a drunken lecher that almost everyone who knew Kavanaugh as a young man has painted over the past few weeks, her credibility is boosted by her former employment and security clearances with the U.S. government, including the Mint and the Department of Homeland Security.
The severity of the allegations should be cause for an immediate halt to all confirmation proceedings until an investigation by the FBI can be conducted into the matter, though that still would require the President to sign off on it.
Swetnick is now the third woman to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, and while the Senate Judiciary Committee has yet to respond beyond a statement saying they are “reviewing” the testimony now, it’s hard to see how they could possibly ram this confirmation through with these allegations hanging over his head.
Though we wouldn’t put anything past these Republicans, who have made it very clear that the rape allegations don’t bother them one bit.
