Rudy Giuliani just taunted John Brennan in an unhinged, nonsensical Twitter attack

Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s currently favored media attack dog, made news yesterday when he appeared on numerous television programs and, in his increasingly erratic and unstable style, lobbed baseless conspiracy theories and outright bigotry directly into the homes of millions of Americans.

During Meet the Press, the disgraced former New York City mayor coined the latest, already-infamous Trumpism by absurdly stating that “Truth isn’t truth.” The Orwellian neologism was rightfully met with laughter from Chuck Todd.

On Fox News, Giuliani escalated the president’s war against former CIA Director John Brennan by implying that Brennan is a Communist and that his tolerant comments about Islam are unAmerican.

The comments came in the wake of Trump’s recent decision to revoke Brennan’s security clearance because of his criticisms of the administration. It was a rank partisan move on the part of the president, and just the latest attempt by Trump to politicize parts of the federal government that were previously respected as neutral.

Brennan himself retaliated by threatening to sue Trump to protect other former government officials from having their clearances revoked for petty partisan reasons. Trump tweeted this morning that he hopes Brennan follows through on the threat.

Now, Giuliani has doubled-down on Trump’s goading in a characteristically strange, disjointed tweet. The message is addressed to Brennan and in it, Giuliani says that he’d like to handle the lawsuit should Brennan choose to move forward with it. He then pivoted to a non-sequitur about President Obama’s “red lines” before calling the former CIA Director a “blowhard.”

CNBC’s Christina Wilkie quickly penned a tweet pointing out how bizarre Giuliani’s Brennan tweet was. As she explained, the tweet is about an as-yet non-existent lawsuit, and even if that lawsuit did exist it would be handled by government lawyers, not Trump’s legal lackeys. In other words, Giuliani has no idea what he’s talking about.

While one can’t help but glean some entertainment from Giuliani’s continued public unraveling, the fact that he speaks directly for the most powerful man in the world is deeply disturbing. This administration is dangerously unhinged and rotten to the core, and the longer these bufoons represent us, the more deeply damaged our country’s reputation becomes.
