The Trump administration loves to pretend that it is breaking new ground for African-Americans, but when it comes to equal representation and listening to black voices, it will come as no surprise that the Donald and his cronies fail to meet the mark.
The insincere attitude that this administration of white nationalists has towards America’s black population was put on full display this morning when Trump’s favorite spin doctor, Kellyanne Conway, was asked to name a prominent African-American in the White House…and couldn’t.

Interesting exchange to watch. Jon Karl asks Kellyanne Conway who the highest-ranking African-American Trump official is now that Omarosa is gone. (via ABC) pic.twitter.com/Rqu1KFQ8GY

Omarosa Manigault was one of the few prominent African-Americans in the Trump White House — though it’s still unclear what actual “work,” if any, she did in the White House — and after she was fired, the President no longer had any black senior advisors, which put Conway in an uncomfortable spot today as she struggled to conceal the overwhelming whiteness of the Trump administration.
Considering the president’s constant attacks on black NFL athletes, his open dog-whistling to white supremacists and his obsessive promotion of the FOX News network which is now openly preaching reactionary “blood and soil” propaganda, it’s no surprise that nobody of color wants to work for him.
