Trump just lashed out at his staff and threw a fit over Melania’s television

Yet another behind the scenes report has brought us news of yet another Donald Trump tantrum, and this might be the dumbest one yet.

Maggie Haberman and Katie Rogers at the New York Times have obtained an email indicating that the President “lashed out” at his aides after he discovered his wife Melania’s television…was tuned to CNN.

On the first couple’s recent trip overseas, Melania Trump’s television aboard Air Force One was tuned to CNN. President Trump was not pleased.

He raged at his staff for violating a rule that the White House entourage should begin each trip tuned to Fox — his preferred network over what he considers the “fake news” CNN — and caused “a bit of a stir” aboard Air Force One, according to an email obtained by The New York Times. The email, an internal exchange between officials in the White House Military Office and the White House Communications Agency last Thursday, also called for the ordering of two additional televisions to support Beam, a TiVo-like streaming device, to make sure the president and first lady could both watch TV in their separate hotel rooms when they travel.

The president’s unhinged animosity for CNN, which he routinely disparages as “fake news,” is well documented at this stage in his presidency.

Their pesky insistence on covering all the developments in the Russian collusion investigation, his endless ethics violations, sexual misconduct scandals, foreign meeting gaffes, and appalling policy decisions vexes the President to no end; his pathological inability to endure the slightest bit of criticism without some kind of response and his perpetual need for an enemy to demonize makes CNN an ideal whipping boy.

For the president to cause enough of a stir that it provoked internal communications between staffers means it must have been a doozy.

It goes without saying that to hear the President of the United States is getting so worked up over what’s playing on a television is very, very bad news for all of us. It’s not easy to sleep well at night knowing that the man who could end life as we know it on this earth with the push of a button is raging about what’s playing on a television.
