Racist diner just left the most disgusting note on a black waiter’s receipt and got what they deserved

It seems like the American people can’t go more than a few days without committing a heinous act of racism, whether it’s calling the police on black people for going about their lives, filming themselves saying racial slurs, or committing disgusting acts of violence against people of color just for the sake of it.

The latest display of unnecessary cruelty and ignorance comes to us from Dallas, Texas, where a waiter named Khalil at the Saltgrass Steakhouse was stiffed on a tip by some cheap racists, who wrote that they “don’t tip terrorists” on his check and left him with nothing.

Not that it matters, but Khalil just so happens to be Christian.

Khalil has taken the higher road and not let the hateful incident bother him to much, but the receipt highlights how our exploitative system of pittance wages and reliance on tips in the hospitality industry leaves workers vulnerable to being stiffed out of their labor by bigots, sexists, and cheapskates who don’t feel obligated to pay for the service they were rendered.

The COO of Saltgrass Steakhouse has stood by his employee and declared that diner to be permanently banned from his restaurant.

While it’s certain that the election of Trump and his white nationalist rhetoric has empowered and emboldened racists across the country, ignorance and distrust of Muslims flourished long before – and will continue to do so after Trump is gone unless we as a society stop being afraid of people with names that are different from ours, stop conflating everything that sounds vaguely Arabic with Islamic terrorism and stop the slaughter of innocent Muslims in our endless and fruitless Middle East wars.
