Sasha Baron Cohen just pranked Sarah Palin and she’s absolutely furious

World-famous comedian Sasha Baron Cohen has been slowly unveiling his latest project over the past week, and he’s been driving conservatives up the wall with his antics.

Former vice-presidential candidate and Tea Party matriarch Sarah Palin has been forced to admit that she was hoodwinked by the Borat and Ali G funnyman into participating in an interview for his “What Is America” series for Showtime.

Cohen disguised himself as a wounded veteran in a wheelchair in order to get Palin to talk to her before eventually getting her to blow her top and storm out of the interview entirely.

“Out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform, I sat through a long ‘interview’ full of Hollywoodism’s disrespect and sarcasm — but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out, much to Cohen’s chagrin” said a furious Palin in a statement. “The disrespect of our U.S. military and middle-class Americans via Cohen’s foreign commentaries under the guise of interview questions was perverse. Mock politicians and innocent public personalities all you want, if that lets you sleep at night, but HOW DARE YOU mock those who have fought and served our country!”

Palin, of course, has no grounds to stand on when it comes to disrespecting the military and exploiting them for her own political gains, since she famously tried to blame President Obama for her son’s domestic assault conviction (even though her son likely never saw combat and in fact enlisted while George W. Bush was president) and has propped up her controversial and mercifully short political career using superficial troop worship and white nationalism.

While it may not be in the best of tastes to impersonate a wounded veteran for comedic purposes, the use of our veterans as a political cudgel by both sides of the political spectrum and use of hero worship to derail any kind of criticism of American imperialism or the obscene amount of money we spend murdering civilians and purchasing weapons is reprehensible and inherently fascistic.

We can’t wait to see what Sasha got Palin to say!
