Ever since the tireless work of American journalists made public the savage conditions to which migrant children are subjected in Trump’s concentration camps, Trump has worked equally tirelessly to shroud those very camps in deception.
His lie is a lazy one, of course, but the 400lb blob isn’t one for hard work. He’s currently scapegoating the Democrats, the minority party in all three branches of government, for creating and maintaining the “law” which supposedly mandates the separation of children from their parents at the border – even though no such law exists, save the policy put in place by his administration.
Even worse, it quickly became apparent Trump created this crisis as a bargaining chip so that he could make good on his primary campaign promise – the border wall. Specifically, he’s leveraging the lives of these migrant children to get Democrats to sign off on the $25 billion price tag.
In an early morning tweet (because when else would he tweet?), Trump screeched “for Congress to change the ridiculous and obsolete laws on immigration,” before demanding Democrats “get it done” with an important caveat – border security.
Translation? The border wall.
Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (CA) is one of the leaders in the fight to save these children and has been keeping a close eye on the president’s multiple channels through which he disseminates his lies. She saw the tweet and came down hard, correcting him every step of the way:
“Stop using the suffering of these little children as some barbaric bargaining chip. You started this and you can end it right now. #FamiliesBelongTogether.”

One of the biggest mistakes made in the lead up to the 2016 election was the left’s insistence to combat Trump’s loud mouth with decorum, instead of calling him for what he is: a liar, a rapist, and a racist.
These children have no time for decorum, they need immediate action and Democrats are giving that to them while Republicans gleefully watch them rot.
If Democrats can cling to this momentum, not only can they save these children, but they can take the #BlueWave off of the internet and right to the polls.
Then we can make sure this never happens again.
