Federal prosecutors just announced they’re moving to arrest Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen

President Trump could be set to receive the worst news of his presidency yet. MSNBC’s reporter Katy Tur has reported that the president’s longtime friend and attorney Michael Cohen has been told by federal prosecutors that they are preparing to arrest him.

In April, the FBI raided Cohen’s Trump Tower office as well as his hotel room, seizing mountains of evidence. It’s still unclear what crimes Cohen may be charged with, but some have suggested that his $130,000 hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels on behalf of Trump may have constituted a campaign finance violation. It’s also possible that Cohen is set to be indicted for some kind of role in colluding with Russia during the 2016 election.

Cohen has shed his attorneys and is expected to cooperate with investigators.

If Cohen is indeed arrested, it’s conceivable that he may flip and become a witness against Trump, which could, in turn, prove to be the lynchpin in whatever case Special Counsel Robert Mueller may be building against the president.
