Larry Kudlow, the former television pundit and current Director of the National Economic Council has been rushed to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. after suffering a heart attack.
The news was shared by President Trump on Twitter. He praised Kudlow for “working so hard on trade and the economy” but strangely failed to wish him a speedy recovery or offer any kind of well wishes. It’s the sort of callous phrasing that underlines his habitual inability to empathize with other human beings, even when they’re his closest allies.
Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack. He is now in Walter Reed Medical Center.

It’s still unclear how critical Kudlow’s condition is or how serious the heart attack was. The 70-year-old man replaced the resigned Gary Cohn as Director of the NEC on April 2nd.
Kudlow’s heart attack comes as the Trump administration continues to push economic issues, specifically trade and tariffs, to the forefront of their public agenda.
The president is currently in Singapore meeting North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un to discuss denuclearization and a possible easing of sanctions and economic aid for the authoritarian country. No word yet on how Kudlow’s health problems will affect these issues.
Kudlow made waves over the weekend when he absurdly accused Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of “stabbing” the United States in the back after Trudeau stated that Canada would respond to Trump’s ill-fated tariffs with tariffs of their own.
