Adam Schiff just backed Devin Nunes into a corner with a brilliant move

As Special Counselor Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s possible collusion with Russia and obstruction of justice continues to threaten – and scare – the president, the House Intelligence Committee’s own investigation, led by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), blatantly sought to absolve Trump of any wrongdoing. What resulted was a disgustingly partisan probe that concluded without following a staggering number of leads.

It seems Nunes’ inept “investigation” has finally wrought consequences. The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff (D-CA), has sent a letter to Nunes asking him to share witness transcripts to Mueller’s team, suggesting that “certain witnesses” may have lied to the House Intel Committee during their testimonies.

If witnesses are found to have lied, they will face perjury charges.

The letter is decidedly bad news for not only the unpopular California Republican and Trump lackey, but obviously for those who may have misled the Committee. Given the frequency with which the Trump administration’s stories have changed over the course of a few months, it is not only possible but wholly likely that such charges could be filed.

These “law and order” Republicans are about to learn the hard way that their empty rallying cry applies to them, as well.
