Last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers met the Boston Celtics for the third game of their best of seven series in 2018 NBA playoffs – and the nation was treated to a rare political moment during the game.
A man wearing one of Donald Trump’s notorious “Make America Great Again” hats asked Cavs superstar LeBron James for his towel after he was finished wiping himself off – and LeBron made it clear how he felt about the man’s choice of headgear and the politics associated with it by purposefully throwing it out of his reach.

LeBron James has made it very clear in the past that he does not support the President or his white supremacist agenda, having referred to him as a “bum” after the Donald launched his crusade against NFL players who chose to kneel for the anthem in protest of police brutality and institutional racism in the American justice system.
U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!

One wonders what Grandpa Chud thought he was doing when he wore that hat and then tried to ask a favor of LeBron, who went on to score 27 points by himself and gave the Cavs some much-needed momentum going into game 4.
Unfortunately, as one Twitter user noted, this is probably going to be the beginning of yet another right-wing freakout about how basketball players don’t respect the elderly or some other kind of preposterous excuse to cloak their racism against the “hip-hop style” athletes – but the incident serves as a great metaphor for how this country feels about Trump and his awful fans.
Congrats to the MAGA hat guy for his upcoming 28 Fox news appearances and Bari Weiss column https://t.co/cOgxQIY6OJ
