Donald Trump is not an intelligent man. He likes to tout his degree from the University of Pennsylvania, but at this point it’s best to admit his father probably paid his way in there.
If his incoherent speeches, grammar-free tweets, or the time he stared directly into a solar eclipse weren’t convincing enough, take then this footage just unearthed by Chris Hayes and his team at MSNBC.
On Thursday, Hayes tweeted a short clip of famed Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates in a discussion forum, when the conversation turns to Donald Trump. There is no date provided on the clip, so it is unclear at this time to which personality Gates was referring – reality-TV star Trump, candidate Trump, or President Trump – since his manner of speaking has changed with each era.

Still, the question Trump reportedly had for Gates doesn’t reflect well on his Ivy League education:

“He waned to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV, so I was able to explain that those are rarely confused with each other,” Gates says through laughter.
Hayes eventually sub-tweeted his original tweet, with an updated explanation of the aforementioned clip:
Bill Gates says that in *both* meetings he had with Trump, Trump asked if HPV and HIV were the same thing. https://t.co/Py7fRwC6l0

“Bill Gates says that in *both* meetings he had with Trump, Trump asked is HPV and HIV were the same thing,” Hayes clarified.
There are many issues with the President of the United States, at any point in his career, confusing the debilitating Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), which can ultimately lead to the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or AIDS, with the very common human papillomavirus infection, or HPV. In the 1980s, under Reagan’s disastrous reign, the LGBTQ community was nearly wiped out by the AIDS crisis which both Nancy and Ronald opted to ignore – but at least they could identify the difference between it and HPV.
Now, the country is being run by a madman who cannot differentiate one sexually transmitted disease from another, as his administration pushes abstinence-only education which has been linked with an increase in pregnancy and STI transmission.
On top of that, he proved to the brilliant Bill Gates that he is incapable of listening comprehension since he needed an explanation of the difference between two diseases on two separate occasions.
It’s a good thing that the youth of this country is in fighting form, because after Trump finishes trashing the White House they will inherit quite the mess from this man.
