Over the weekend, right-wing grievance preacher Tomi Lahren launched into a despicable rant about immigrants while appearing on insufferable O’Reilly protege Jesse Watters’s FOX News show.

Spitting in the face of three hundred years of immigrant tradition, Lahren railed against “low-skill, low-education” immigrants and accused them of refusing to put their best efforts towards assimilation.

For all their supposed “patriotism,” it is truly astonishing to see the way that conservative commentators abuse American history with such gleeful exuberance. “Low skills and low education immigrants” are exactly what this country is based on, and they built one of the most powerful nations the world has ever seen. But it’s clear that Lahren considers her agenda of ethnoracial agitation much more important than the petty consideration of “facts.”
Former White House ethics chief Walter Schaub took to Twitter and unloaded on Lahren with surprising and uncharacteristic vitriol, making his furious condemnation all the more meaningful and appropriate.

I’d trade Xenophobic Rage Barbie for a hard working immigrant any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Contributing less than nothing to this country, she exists only to make lazy white supremacists “with low skills, low education, [barely] understanding the language” feel nice.

He’s absolutely right. Tomi Lahren, Jesse Watters, and all the rest of the goose-stepping white nationalists at FOX News contribute nothing to this nation beyond continuing to radicalize conservative viewers and fanning the flames of anti-immigrant sentiment.

If Lahren had bothered to pay attention in school, she might know just how dangerous the fire she’s playing with is and what the consequences of her style of propaganda are – or more likely, she knows but just simply doesn’t care.
