The sector of the world which insists you can separate the art from the artist was shocked today to find out what some of us have known for a while – Kanye West is a terrible human being.

While he might legitimately be afflicted with mental health issues, his behavior on and off camera for the better part of a decade has been erratic, self-centered, and downright rude.

Now, after a litany of pro-Trump tweets came from the Kardashian-owned rapper, other big stars are taking notice.
It all started when we came across this tweet from a twitter user named after a character from Nickelodeon’s The Fairly OddParents:
rihanna unfollowed kanye so kanye is officially cancelled

“Rihanna unfollowed Kanye so Kanye is officially cancelled,” ‘Chip Skylark’ tweeted.

A search to verify the validity of of ‘Chip’s’ claim revealed that Rihanna isn’t the only major artist to disavow Kanye – most of America’s biggest stars joined her protest.
Fellow Washington Press writer Brian Tyler Cohen pieced together the list (so far) in the following tweet:

Ariana Grande, BTS (a major K-Pop boy band), Drake, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik (both former members of One Direction) Jaden Smith, Janelle Monáe, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Kendrick Lamar, Lana del Rey, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, The Weekend, and queer pop sensation Troye Sivan are just some of the stars who formally unfollowed Kanye.

The website doesfollow.com was used to verify whether the artists currently followed Kanye, as well as if the unfollow was a “change” (meaning they had followed him before).
The Kardashian/Jenner empire has come under fire previously for their approval of Trump. Caitlyn Jenner was initially hailed as a trans rights hero when she came out publicly in 2015. She subsequently went on to support then-candidate Trump, in spite of both his and his VP Mike Pence’s virulent anti-trans positions.
Jenner only recently walked back her support of the hate-mongering president when he tried YET AGAIN to impose a transgender military ban. “As far as trans issues, this administration has been the worst ever,” she told Newsweek in March of this year.
Fingers crossed that this begins the end of the Kardashian/Jenner empire and a national pivot to people with talent.
