The host of Trump’s Miss Universe Moscow Pageant in 2013 just gave one of the first public contradictions of the President’s suspicious statements that were documented in recently revealed memos from James Comey, the former FBI Director.
Emmy-winning former MSNBC anchor Thomas A. Roberts took the controversial assignment to host the pageant in Moscow, shortly after Russia’s President Vladimir Putin signed an anti-free speech and anti-homosexuality law and just weeks after Trump agreed to host the pageant with Russian oligarch Aras Agalarov. Now, the journalist just refused to say when asked if he is cooperating with Special Counsel Mueller’s probe.
Today, Roberts told The Daily Beast that Donald Trump most certainly spent the night in Moscow, because he arrived the night before a 2013 interview (video below) in which the New York real estate developer told him that he does in fact, have a relationship with Putin.

“The first time I met Donald Trump it was in Moscow on November 8th, 2013,” the former NBC anchor said. “I taped a sit-down interview with Trump the next day on November 9th. That was also the date for the Miss Universe broadcast.”
Roberts continued: “During the after-party for the Miss Universe event, Mr. Trump offered to fly me and my husband back to New York. He said he would be leaving directly from the party. We were unable to accept the invitation. That was the early morning hours of November 10th.”
Ironically, Roberts defied Vladimir Putin by bringing his husband to the event, knowing that under Russia’s nebulous anti-gay laws, he could’ve been arrested for doing so.
Now, he’s a witness to history, and potentially a witness against Trump. After TDB’s report, Roberts tweeted this tonight:
To be clear…I confirmed the dates of my introduction, interview, work and social interactions w/Donald Trump in Moscow.
The dates are
November 8th, 2013
November 9th, 2013
November 10, 2013 https://t.co/EE9kH3xYof

Flight records obtained by Bloomberg confirm Roberts’ version of events, which only became a matter of public attention after Congressional Republicans ill-advisedly demanded that former FBI Director Comey’s memos be prematurely released.
The memos’ revelations that President Trump held an obsessive focus on pee tape allegations inside ex-MI6 spy Christopher Steele’s dossier and the weak alibi he gave to Comey have ignited interest in the salacious story.
But in the last month, two major components of the Trump-Russia dossier, besides the compromising sex tape, and more central to the relationship have been confirmed.
Steele’s dossier posited a five year courtship period of Trump by Putin’s men; the Guardian reported that one of Putin’s current political surrogates began offering the Trump Organization business in a former Soviet state in 2011, which Don Jr. subsequently visited in 2012.
Two weeks ago, McClatchyDC reported that the Special Counsel’s investigation has confirmed Trump fixer Michael Cohen’s election time visit to Prague.
Some people have criticized Thomas A. Roberts for failing to speak out during the election about Trump’s connections to Vladimir Putin, but he responded those criticisms on Twitter earlier this year.
No @LHollenkamp @grantstern didn’t forget 2013 Moscow interview. In fact, my team was 1st to remind people about my 2013 interview. This aired multiple times on my show in 2016 & well before election. Subsequently, #Trump denied relationship w/Putin after we re-aired this clip. https://t.co/t7k54Tr6ST

Thomas A. Roberts did air his interview with Donald Trump during the Democratic Party’s 2016 national convention, only a day after the then-Republican presidential nominee made a highly unusual public plea begging to Russia to deliver Hillary Clinton’s hacked emails to him.
Unfortunately, Roberts’ damning video of Trump only got a short part of his own segment, which was then turned over to current Sinclair Broadcasting pro-Trump propagandist Boris Epshteyn who dominated the segment.
The rest of the mainstream television media and even supposedly high-quality news outlets like the New York Times still proceeded to focus as obsessively on Hillary Clinton’s emails, as Trump did to Comey about the infamous pee tape, which he also denies happened.
But none of them aired Thomas A. Roberts’ video frequently – even his own network MSNBC – because Donald Trump’s denial of the video recorded interview somehow sufficed for most as the final answer to a tremendously important question of one of the two major party presidential nominees.
Now that Donald Trump is President and the Special Counsel’s investigation is breathing down his neck, the false claims he made to James Comey, which Thomas A. Roberts just disproved, could become key evidence in the impeachment trial or criminal trial of the occupant of the Oval Office.
