Michelle Obama just broke the internet with message congratulating UK royals on new baby

Amid a chorus of deserved congratulations to the United Kingdom’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, on the birth of their new baby boy, one voice in particular stood out.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama took to Instagram to post the viral 2016 photo of her and former President Barack Obama, William and Kate, and the royal couple’s oldest child, George, wearing a bathrobe. In the caption, Obama writes, “Barack and I are thrilled to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their newest arrival! We hope to meet him soon for a Kensington Palace pajama party. I’ll wear my robe!”

The Obamas have a strong relationship with both William and Prince Harry. The latter even recently interviewed the former U.S. President for his radio show in what amounted to a highly entertaining watch.

Despite their closeness, the Obamas were not invited to attend Prince Harry’s wedding to American actress Meghan Markle in May. The royal couple decided not to invite any political leaders for reasons not disclosed, although it is possible that, given their distaste for Trump, they didn’t want a wedding snub to become fodder for a larger international dispute, which would require a level of pettiness of which Trump is wholly capable.

In the meantime, more viral photos of our two nations’ most beloved families will certainly suffice.
