Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), that cowardly career enemy of the American People, has finally decided to hang up his black hat and go home. Earlier, today it was revealed that Ryan will not seek another term in Congress, opening the door wide for Democratic challenger Randy Bryce to seize his seat and bring meaningful change to Washington.
Ryan built a career out of obsequiously serving wealthy donors and corporations while stabbing the poor and middle class in the backs every chance he got. He claimed to be dedicated to fiscal conservatism, but under Donald Trump he helped pass a horrifying piece of tax legislation that gave massive handouts to the super-wealthy and that will skyrocket the deficit in coming years.
In addition to his ghoulish economic policies, Ryan is also detestable because of his stances on women’s rights. Specifically, he hates them.

The soon-to-be-former Speaker is virulently opposed to a woman’s right to choose. He also opposed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which was aimed at ensuring women were entitled to equal pay for equal work. He has consistently pushed a misogynist agenda, which could in part explain his failure to adequately denounce our current sexual predator president.
Not surprisingly, Planned Parenthood is no fan of Ryan. When it was announced that he would be leaving Congress the nonprofit organization took to Twitter to celebrate.
All of America should be celebrating with Planned Parenthood. Ryan wasn’t able to destroy the crucial women’s healthcare organization and they will be around for years and years to come.
