It’s only been a day since the FBI raided the Trump Tower office of the president’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen and already the crook in the Oval Office is entering full panic mode.
Trump took to Twitter today to scream helplessly into the void, declaring the lawful raid to be “A TOTAL WITCH HUNT!!!” Apparently, he thinks a liberal dosage of caps lock will help convince the world that he’s not a criminal, despite the increasing mountain of evidence to the contrary. It’s not the first time he’s complained about an imagined witch hunt, and it likely won’t be the last.

Morning Joe‘s Joe Scarborough was unwilling to let Trump’s baseless claims go unchallenged. Scarborough shredded Trump’s claims to victimhood on his show today by itemizing in detail all of the reasons why the president’s “witch hunt” narrative is utter nonsense.
“Just in case you want to know who these ‘witches’ are that Donald Trump says are coming after him. They’re Bob Mueller, a Republican. This is the conspiracy,” Scarborough said.
Robert Mueller has a sterling reputation as a career law enforcement officer and Republicans praised him when he was first appointed. Now that he’s started to turn up evidence that they don’t like they’ve turned on him.
“You’ve got Rod Rosenstein, who he was screaming about yesterday, he’s a lifelong Republican despite the fact Donald Trump called him a Democrat from Baltimore or something,” Scarborough continued.
If Trump wants to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller he will have to ask Rosenstein to do it for him. If Rosenstein refuses, Trump can fire the Deputy Attorney General and try to appoint someone who would fire Mueller.
“The Attorney General Jeff Sessions who he was raging at, you and I both heard not only Donald Trump but Jared Kushner and everybody in the administration saying he was the greatest most standup guy, Republican, during the campaign,” said Scarborough.
“He is also, this conspiracy, a Republican. The FBI Director who Donald Trump appointed? Republican. The four FISA judges who were leading this conspiracy: Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican. The House run by Republicans. The Senate run by Republicans.”
Scarborough then put the final nail in the coffin of the “witch hunt” by pointing out that the U.S. Attorney who ran the Trump Tower raid is a Republican, who was appointed by Trump himself to replace the fired Preet Bharara. Clearly, the raid had a firm legal foundation and wasn’t driven by any kind of partisan consideration.
