FBI-raided Trump lawyer Michael Cohen must be regretting this tweet right about now

Tragedy has struck again in Trump Tower as an FBI raid of the office of Trump’s long-time attorney Michael Cohen took place earlier today, and things look dire for the Liar-in-Chief and his cohorts.

Adding insult to injury, Ellen DeGeneres’ executive producer Andy Lassner posted a screenshot of an old Cohen tweet from 2015 which, like most of team Trump’s social media presence, has not aged well:

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!

“@HillaryClinton when you go to prison for defrauding America and perjury, your room and board will be free!” wrote a salty Cohen just days before the 2015 Christmas holiday. Just over two years later, it looks like Cohen will be the one enjoying room and board on the taxpayer’s dime.

Details about the specifics of the raid are still developing, though at this time it seems the raid is not directly linked to Mueller’s probe and instead linked to Trump’s affair with Stephanie “Stormy Daniels” Clifford. Mueller did recommend the raid, suggesting a connection of some kind.

For anyone concerned about the validity of Lassner’s tweet, see Cohen’s original post below:

Trump may have promised to hire the “best people,” but amid the endless indictments and raids, he seems to have come up monumentally short.
