Ivanka Trump, that shameless beneficiary of rank nepotism, managed to humiliate herself yet again on the world stage, this time by using her father’s preferred method: sending out a stupid tweet.
In what has quickly become her modus operandi since entering the White House, Ivanka sent out a performative tweet, attempting to make herself look civically engaged and to further propagate a false version of herself that actually believes in bettering her country.
It’s obvious to anyone who has been paying attention that they’re simply empty words because she never follows through on her stated goals. In the past, she’s claimed to be a feminist and an advocate for women’s rights but completely refuses to grapple with the fact that her father has been credibly accused by numerous women of sexual assault and has even admitted to as much on tape. In an administration infested with hypocrisy, she manages to stand out as one of the most consistently disingenuous.
Ivanka’s tweet called for promoting “healthy lifestyles for America’s youth.” She cited a recent study that stated 9.5 million American children stated they do not participate in any of a hundred different sports.
Suddenly, Ivanka wants us to believe that she cares about children’s health. At the same time, she completely failed to acknowledge the fact that former First Lady Michelle Obama spearheaded efforts to combat childhood obesity with her successful “Let’s Move!” initiative – a program which her father immediately abandoned.
If Ivanka really wanted to help children she’d try to build on the strong foundation laid by the former First Lady. Of course, no Trump family member can acknowledge the successes of the first black president or his accomplished wife, so Ivanka has chosen to ignore her.

Ivanka’s insincere call to action didn’t go unnoticed, and retired Lieutenant General Mark Hertling, formerly of the U.S. Army, quickly shot back a tweet of his own.
He pointed out that President Trump has failed to make appointments to the President’s Council on Fitness, Sport, and Nutrition. The program has been around for sixty years and the current president is neglecting it. It used to have 25 members, now it has zero.
Hertling pointed out that First Lady Michelle Obama worked with the Council and made a lot of progress. Hertling, a lifelong patriot, clearly has little patience for the people currently running our country into the ground.
