A new report just revealed the stunning charges facing Trump lawyer Michael Cohen

The dramatic saga of President Trump’s interminable scandals took a huge turn on Monday afternoon when federal agents raided the home, office, and hotel room of Michael Cohen, Trump’s longtime lawyer and associate.

Now it appears that the president might have company in his jail cell when this is all said and done. The Washington Post reports that Cohen is now under federal investigation for possible bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

The allegations refer to the to the $130,000 in hush money that Cohen paid to the President’s ex-mistress, adult actress and director Stephanie “Stormy Daniels” Clifford, right before the 2016 election. That money was later laundered back to Cohen through a shell corporation set up by the Trump team using campaign funds.

In a moment of supreme irony, Cohen set this entire investigation into motion when he himself admitted to the New York Times that he had personally paid out the money in a stunningly clumsy effort to exonerate President Trump from any involvement in the scandal.

His statement set the ball rolling and now he himself is likely facing indictments as Stormy Daniels and her lawyer continue to wage their legal battle to free the entertainer from her non-disclosure contract with Trump – which he couldn’t even be bothered to sign.

What was once just an embarrassing story that tantalized the media has suddenly matured into a criminal investigation that could land the President’s top allies in jail with him – and it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy,
