Multiple people were just shot in deadly party bus shooting

The epidemic of random gun violence in this country continued this morning in Rockford, Illinois, according to a report from CBS affiliate WIFR.

Police who responded to a report of the shooting of multiple victims discovered three people dead inside a private, adult-themed charter bus that had been rented out on Friday.

The shooter was a passenger on the bus who fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The driver of the Distinguished Gentleman private entertainment bus drove away from the scene of the shooting before calling the police to report the incident.

The suspect in the shooting remains at large, with no description of the assailant yet available. The three adult victims are also still unidentified, according to Rockford police Chief Dan O’Shea, who was vague on the details of the incident.

“A suspect on the bus shot other individuals on the bus,” O’Shea said during a news conference Saturday morning. “At this time it’s an active investigation.”

“Obviously there’s an individual out there who has killed three people and we need to apprehend… (that) individual,” O’Shea continued.

The police chief appealed to the public to come forward with any information they may have on the shooting or the perpetrator.

Three more victims brings the total number of gun deaths in the United States so far this year to 3,780, including 58 mass shootings. Are you tired enough of these types of incidents that you’ll support sensible gun regulations? Make sure that you vote for candidates in all federal, state and local elections who support banning assault weapons, strengthening background checks, and closing loopholes in gun regulations.
