After spending his holiday weekend attending attacking the FBI, lying about Democrats’ role in ending DACA, and attending church services (not that his Evangelical base seems to care how he acts in that regard), Trump is back with a new attack on immigrants, and this time it’s not Hillary Clinton’s fault.

Trump does like to ignore the reality that, in spite of his otherwise progressive policies, Obama was one of the toughest presidents on immigration in recent history.

Apparently, the president also spent a significant chunk of his holiday celebrations consuming Fox News’ broadcasts. They ran several segments this weekend featuring a concocted story of caravans of undocumented immigrants crossing the southern border… so Trump followed up his Obama tweet with this:

To his credit, at least the wall seems to be one topic that can hold Trump’s toddler-sized attention span long enough to get repeated coverage. The Obama pivot is an old favorite but feels a little tired.

Trump really needs to get some new material before even his most adamant defenders see through the hazy orange facade.
