Trump attacked Mexico for doing “NOTHING” on immigration. Mexico’s response is everything

When President Trump launched his latest deranged Twitter attack on Mexico on Easter morning, the quality of his discourse stank like an Easter egg left undiscovered in the bushes on the White House lawn since last year’s egg hunt.

Now, Mexico’s foreign minister, Luis Videgaray Caso, has responded to Trump’s ludicrously false remarks about his nation’s efforts at cooperation with the United States on border control issues with a statement that is as thoughtful, measured, and factual as our President’s is ill-informed, hyperbolic, and mendacious.

Add your name to millions demanding Congress take action on the President’s crimes. IMPEACH TRUMP & PENCE!

By ending his tweet with a holiday greeting, the Mexican foreign minister reminds us to pray for a return to the times when the United States had a president worthy of respect– a president who commanded respect by acting with dignity, integrity, and compassion rather than inviting disdain with childish temper tantrums and demonstrations of his massive ignorance and prejudice.

We can only hope that the rest of the American populace is not being judged by the people of other nations in the same terms as our embarrassment of a “leader.” After all, it was only a quirk of the constitutional relic that is the electoral college, with the grand assistance of illegal Russian subterfuge, that led to someone who only won a minority of the votes of the American citizens to occupy the office he is so defiling now.

Perhaps we need more than a humble prayer, however. If divine entreaties are in order, then let us pray for a miracle to rescue our nation from the the largest and most self-inflicted threat we’ve ever faced.
